Healthcare Providers

Our Healthcare Providers are made up of Obstetrics and Gynecologists (OB/GYN) in Broward County. The Healthcare providers are mandated by the State to complete the Healthy Start Prenatal Risk Screening to ALL pregnant women in Broward County regardless of income, immigration status or insurance.

The objective of screening all pregnant women is to identify pregnant women who are at risk for poor birth outcomes. Once identified as in need of Healthy Start Services, appropriate services are then offered to these women.

According to Florida Statute 383.14

Prenatal Screening – “Requires the primary health care provider to send the Healthy Start screening reports directly to the local Office of Vital Statistics. The department must maintain the confidentiality of the information. It follows that the department may not release the information unless it has a signed consent to release the information to another agency”.
